About SafeCheck

SafeCheck helps small restaurants stay inspection-ready without spending hours on paperwork or thousands on consultants.

Why we built SafeCheck

Most food safety software is built for large chains with compliance officers and IT budgets. Small independent restaurants — family-owned diners, food trucks, pop-ups, single-location cafés — are stuck between clipboards and $200/month enterprise platforms.

SafeCheck fills that gap. Digital checklists, temperature logs, and inspection-ready reports, priced so that any restaurant can afford it. The free plan covers most single-location operators. Premium features start at $19/month.

How we source our content

Our checklist templates and guides are based on:

  • FDA Food Code (2022 edition) — the baseline used by most US state and local health departments. Full text at fda.gov.
  • HACCP principles — the seven-step hazard analysis framework codified by the National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods.
  • CDC guidance on foodborne illness prevention, allergen management, and safe food handling.
  • Conversations with restaurant operators — we talk to owners, managers, and line cooks to understand what actually happens during service versus what regulations require.

Disclaimer: SafeCheck content is educational. It is not legal, regulatory, or professional food safety advice. Always consult your local health department for requirements specific to your jurisdiction and operation.

What we are not

We are a software company, not a food safety consultancy. We build tools that help operators stay organized and document compliance — we do not audit your operation, write your HACCP plan for you, or represent you during inspections. For those services, work with a certified food safety professional in your area.
